Before diving into the wonderful world of plantar fasciitis, a note about the publishing schedule.
You may have noticed that the pace of newsletters has slowed from two per week to one. This reduction was partly brought on by the holidays, but it also came about because I wanted to experiment with a different publishing model.
Over the last 2+ years, I’ve written over 200 pieces at Running, Probably. Given an average word count of about 1,200 per piece, that comes out to around 250,000 words about running, give or take. Even for a labor of love, that’s a lot of labor.
When I started RP in November of 2020, I wasn’t sure where it was going or how big a role it would fill in my work life. It’s essentially become my full-time freelance job, albeit on a part-time basis while I fill my other role as a stay-at-home dad.
Unfortunately, that hasn’t left a lot of time for other projects like constructing a Running, Probably website where all those newsletters can be cataloged and made accessible. There are also freelance pieces I’d like to pitch, along with a nebulous idea that I should write some kind of book about running.
Rather than continue grinding away to meet an arbitrary publishing quota, we’re going to stay with one piece per week for the foreseeable future. That may change if/when I set some of these other ideas in motion, or if the mood strikes to write more often. For now, one piece per week feels right. Thank you, as always, for your support.
OK, let’s talk about feet.
