Hello Running, Probably subscribers.
I’m going to keep this brief and to the point. This is the post where I ask for your financial support. After lots and lots of consideration -- and no small amount of angst -- I’ve come up with the following structure.
Beginning with tomorrow’s Friday Ramble, RP content will be available only to paid subscribers. Occasionally, some posts will be made available to everyone. In all cases, only paid members will be able to comment.
There are two paid subscriber options.
Base: $7 per month or $70 per year
Subscribing at this rate gets you access to everything published under the Running, Probably name both now and in the future. You’ll have the ability to comment and interact with everyone else in the community. You’ll also have my eternal gratitude for believing in this vision and agreeing to come along for the journey.
Founder: $100 per year
This higher rate reflects an investment in what RP is trying to become, as much as for what it is at the moment. Among the features I’d like to introduce in the future are a podcast based on the Runners I Know series, a video series with expert advice, and a line of RP merchandise.
I also continue to harbor a vision that RP can exist on its own, free from the whims and editorial decisions of venture capital backed media platforms. The startup costs for going that route are not small, but my hope is that there’s enough interest in this newsletter to justify such a move in the future.
A subscription at this higher rate will help fund those projects and lay the groundwork for a more robust experience that will benefit the entire community. You’ll also get discounts on merch when it becomes available and an opportunity to tell your story in a Runners I Know interview.
Thank you all for reading and interacting with Running, Probably. It’s been a dream come true to see this idea actually take shape in real, tangible form. If you’d like to continue with me on this journey, please consider a paid subscription.
Proud to support the RP mission!
