On Sunday, Lena completed her first triathlon in 15 years. We’re super proud of her effort, but we’re most proud of how she enjoyed the heck out of her race day experience. Granted, the run segment wasn’t exactly enjoyable thanks to an IT band issue, but Lena had a smile on her face throughout the day.

Our hero.

This week’s Shakeout is about running with a different family member, namely my son. I always learn a lot from him whenever we share miles and this time was no different. The moral of this particular story: Whether you have a good or a bad run, pancakes are always a good idea.
