One of the interesting things about training for an endurance race is that your body requires a near-constant stream of calories to help manage your training load. Managing an incessant desire for food as you rummage around the pantry for something other than a handful of chips to satisfy round-the-clock feeding sessions is a part-time training job in and of itself.

That’s why it helps to have a handful of quick, easy, and deliciously nutritious meals on hand to satisfy those all-day cravings. From quinoa crunchberry bowls to homemade chili to nutrient packed green salads, here are a few of the very simple recovery meals I keep stocked in the refrigerator.

(PS: You don’t need to be training for an ultra or even exercising all that much to utilize these recipes. They’re good anytime.)
