My old Twitter account with multiple thousands of followers got nuked when I lost my cool and told Donald Trump to do something unspeakable to himself, but I shared on my meager 2.0 account. Thanks for keeping the newsletter free for now, Paul :)

I also fully support you charging if you decide to go that route. FWIW I'd pay happily.

Boston-area expat settled into Denver life here. I first came to know "The Great PFlanns" ((c) Zach Lowe) from basketball writing and the occasional guest appearance on The Lowe Post. I've actually gotten into running once a week during pandemic life, had to quit the gym. No way am I going on longer runs, but I have actually started to like it. I look forward to doing more hikes soon too, not a skier/snowboarder but I do love a nice hike. In conclusion, long live PFlanns. My social reach isn't much but I'm happy to help promote it. This, plus Today in Tabs, plus the Elizabeth Spiers substack, are my favorites so far. Oh and Cup of Coffee. Happy to spread the word on all, but especially this one.

Love it, thanks Gabe. This is all very much a journey, running, walking, biking, hiking, kayaking, sitting, cooking, whatever makes you feel human. Happy to have you on board.

Hi Paul, I too have been following you since your ESPN days. I always appreciated your analytical breakdown of both strategies and players. I caught the running bug a few years back and feel like i'm in a similar spot in life as you both in age and in fitness. Last year was the first year I religiously tracked my runs using Strava (are you on? i've searched and haven't found you) and I ended up running about 2,200 miles (not fast) with about 220k ft of total climb. I was a little hesitant to subscribe since, to your credit, you let it be known from the start that the goal was to eventually put up a paywall, but also to your credit, you have been so candid about the highs and lows of all aspects of running as well as everything that goes into balancing your running/recovery with the responsibilities of having a family that I have no reservations about continuing to subscribe once you start charging and am willing to start now. Is there a way substack will allow you to do a hybrid where you can start charging subscribers who are willing to pay now while allowing others who are either on the fence or just discovering you to continue reading for free? Or do you have a patreon account? Thank you for this newsletter and all the work and time that goes into it.

Not on Strava, maybe someday. Nice numbers! Appreciate your candor too. I thought about introducing a voluntary paywall but didn't want to make things too complicated. Timeline is two weeks from now we paid. Appreciate everything you said. Truly.
