Over the last few weeks, we’ve explored the concept of creating an offseason training program for runners who are between racing seasons. Previous posts covered cultivating an offseason mindset, as well as cross training. This week: Putting it all together and coming up with a schedule. 

Now that you’ve committed to an offseason and explored different cross training pursuits, you may be asking yourself, What does a typical week look like on the schedule? 

With a mix of 3-4 running days, strength training, yoga, and alternative cardio options at your disposal, you might be surprised at just how much you can fit into seven days of offseason training. 

Here’s a detailed look at a recent seven-day stretch that included three runs, one long bike ride, and a bunch of other activities.
