Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Paul! I ran the Philly Marathon this past weekend (my first) and had just a wonderful time. Weather was perfect and so was the vibe in the city. RP has been a huge inspiration while training, so thank you for your enlightened words of wisdom and guidance each week. Cheers!
Love it. That was my first half way back in I think 2006? Great race, terrific atmosphere. I'm so stoked this newsletter inspired you to get after it. Thanks for sharing your experience with all of us. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Hi, and happy holidays to you and your family! If I'm interpreting your story and newspaper picture correctly, was that a 4 mile run at 4:54 pace? That is really moving!
Oh God, I wish. That was a 5K. The 4-miler was a different race. Sorry if that was confusing. I actually went back and looked up my time from that race and it's been lost to the internet tides. Happy holidays to you and yours, as well, Justin!
Happy Post Thanksgiving! I got to run with my brother and sister in law in a beautiful piece of woods in Gothenburg, Sweden over the break (thanks to vaccines, tests, etc.). We ran at dusks and it was so quiet, still, and peaceful - perfect exercise the day before we had American Thanksgiving in Scandinavia!
Just signed up for a trot in my hometown! Haven't done one before, used to play football with old track guys on Thanksgiving morning but everyone is too spread out now. Thanks for the inspiration!
Holiday mornings are some of my FAVORITE runs. No one is out. It's quiet. You can smell the scents of food cooking inside homes. When you do see people, there tends to be a head nod or a wave or a "happy *insert holiday*". As stressful as the holidays are, and I'm not immune to those family difficulties, holiday morning runs are some of the happiest. Here's hoping you and the FlannFam have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
