This was a great read, especially seeing just how much Lena was into running before you. Unbelievable!
I've pondered doing a sprint triathlon at some point, but I've got plenty to keep me busy in the meantime. I do appreciate her "checking the boxes" mentality. I feel like that fits me sometimes.
Thanks David. We have completely different mindsets and mentalities and yet it somehow works for us. Sprint tris are very cool. It's the open water swimming part that get me, but Lena is tougher in many ways.
this was really great. one of my favorite Runners I Know that you've done, and not just because I've known you both for so long. It was just really honest and revealing. The part about Flan being regimented with his schedule and his eating habits really resonated with me because I'm very similar and Colleen has to deal with that a lot. If I don't get exercise and the right amount of vegetables I can be...less pleasant. Lena, love that you figured out how to mange Outdoor Flan and that you don't have to be on his plan to be supportive. Anyway, great stuff here
Appreciate you Gonz, and thanks for introducing us! Remember when you bet Lena $50 she wouldn't run on a treadmill with a bike helmet on her head and she was like, sure, no problem. The quintessential Lena moment.
I have a profound appreciation for Lena, just as I do for my Mr. Thankfully, he was raised by two runners so when we met, he understood my priorities. He understands my need for it and encourages me to do things that keep me happy and balanced. Best road crew I could ever ask for. I'd thank Lena for being a great support system myself if I could, so shoot that her way. My husband and I have very different diets, and it works for us. We eat on different schedules except for an important Saturday night when we make it a point to sit and talk and share our meal. He accepts my running just as I accept and encourage (most) of his hobbies and habits. After all, they are things that make up who we are.

Thanks Tracey. A supportive partner makes all the difference. Glad you have one in your life.
